NurtureTalk Privacy Policy

Welcome to the NurtureTalk Privacy Policy. NurtureTalk is a two-way text messaging application that connects infant feeding experts to pregnant women and new mothers that need unbiased, reliable, timely, and tailored infant feeding information. The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and secure information we obtain through the “Service.” The terms “NurtureTalk,” “we,” and “us” include NurtureTalk LLC. and our affiliates and subsidiaries. This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Use. Any capitalized terms used and not defined in this Privacy Policy shall have the meaning given to them in the Terms of Use.

How NurtureTalk Collects Information

We collect information when you register to use the Service, participate in the texting Service, respond to surveys or post comments or reviews, otherwise visit or use the Service, and communicate with us.
We also collect information, such as anonymous usage statistics, by using cookies, server logs, and other similar technology as you use the Service.

Information on Registration and Account. You must register to use the Service. To register, you will need to provide information, such as your name, baby’s name, zip code, email address, and telephone number.
Service use. We collect information you provide through the Service. For example, when you interact using text conversations the Service will collect the information you provide in these communications. During a text conversation with an infant feeding expert, information about the parent and baby’s health and well-being may be documented by the consultant, including information about the birth, parent’s health history, baby’s health history, feeding preferences, parents breasts, appearance of baby, and other feeding related issues such as tongue tie. This information may be documented and made available to other infant feeding experts providing the Service.

Text Conversations. Through the Service, we may monitor text messages that are sent or occur on or through the Service for our business purposes, such as quality assurance and training purposes and to protect our rights and the rights of others.
Payments. Payment for the Service will include the provision of financial account information, such as your credit card number, to our third-party service providers. This information is not collected or stored; we will receive transaction information that does not include credit card or bank account numbers.

Data Collections. We occasionally collect information via surveys and via social media comments and reviews. Reviews on the Service may be shared via our website or social media pages in an anonymous manner.
Referrals. You may recommend the Service or other Service related content to another individual via contact with the service. This information will be used to communicate with the individual and then we will delete the information. Your name and/or email will be used in communication with the referred individual.

Communications. Through your interactions with our customer-support team, through other communications with us, and communications through social media, we collect information about you.
Mobile Device Location Information. If your device settings are enabled to send your geo-location information and/or your location from your IP address or other data is inferred, we may collect and store this. Geo-location information is retained for use by this Service and is not shared with third party vendors or associated entities.

Your Device Information and Content. Photos may be shared through the Service. If your photos are shared through the Service, with your permission, we will access the photos you share for use by the Service such as continuation of care between infant feeding experts and tailored education.

Automatic Data Collection. We and our third-party partners (social media analytics, widgets, analytics providers, advertising networks) collect certain information. This information is collected using cookies, web beacons, and other technology in your browser and on emails. This collection of information is in accordance with this Privacy Policy. The Service will use the information collected on the use of the Service from sources including IP address, browser characteristics, device IDs and characteristics, operating system version, language preferences, and referring URLs. This information may be used, for example, to determine amount of usage, usage of messages or newsletters, to send push notifications, or to prevent fraud. This information may or may not be linked to your Service profile. We or our partners also may collect information about your online activities over time. Our partners, when they provide any related services, are governed by their own Privacy Policies. Google Analytics is currently used to collect and process certain website usage data. To learn more about Google Analytics and how to opt out, please visit https://policies.google.com/privacy. You may be able to change browser settings to block and delete cookies when you access the Service through a web browser. However, if you do that, the Service may not work properly. The Service does not respond to browser do-not-track signals.

How NurtureTalk Uses Your Information

We use information to perform and improve our Services, process transactions, communicate with you, perform marketing activities. We may use your information, in an anonymized manner, for any purpose including for research and marketing activities.

Service and Internal Usage. We use information to manage your account, your Service subscription, and to facilitate communication between you and our infant feeding experts. We collect data and retain this to provide Services and make internal improvements.

Our Communications. The email address you provide to us will be used to send emails; these may include push notifications. We will send text messages to any cell phone number you provide to us; these texts will be for informational and operational purposes and also to verify your account. We may also use the email address and/or cell phone number you provided to perform informational and operational activities, such as account management, transaction processing, sending you information overviews and reminders, customer service, system maintenance, push notifications, and other Service-related purposes for which, by using the Service, you are agreeing to receive Service-related communications via these methods. Texted-based conversations between users and infant feeding experts, and related notes, are stored and can be available for consecutive text-communications with same or other infant feeding experts for continuity of care purposes. By initiating text-based conversations you have agreed to these terms of service.

Marketing. When you share your email upon subscription to the Service you are agreeing to receive information via email. We send information that we think may be useful or relevant for you. You may opt out of email marketing by emailing ‘opt-out’ to info@nurturetalk.com.

Aggregate Data. Anonymized information that we collect through the Service will be used for any purpose, including marketing and research.

NurtureTalk May Disclose your Information

We may share information, with our third-party vendors/service providers, for advertising and marketing efforts, to uphold legal obligations, to protect and defend our rights and property, and with your permission. Unless we have permission, NurtureTalk does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or non affiliated companies for their direct marketing purposes.

Use of Vendors and Service Providers. Our vendors and service providers may receive information we share to help us provide and improve the Service. Examples of this include, but are not limited to, text-messaging services and web/database hosting services.

Parent and Consultant Communication. Initiating a text-message communication and agreeing to terms of service allows us to access profile information about you or your baby(s); this includes, but is not limited to, information about the birth, parent’s health history, baby’s health history, feeding preferences, parents breasts, appearance of baby, and other feeding related issues such as tongue tie.

Social Networking Websites. Information shared on the Service associated social media accounts will be visible to others, not limited to those also receiving the service. Information shared related to the Service on social networking websites, such as Facebook, will be governed by their Privacy Policies; we are not responsible for how they treat the information.

Marketing. We do not rent, sell, or share personal information that we collect on the Service with other people or unaffiliated companies for their direct marketing purposes, unless we have your permission. Information collected by the Service can be used to deliver online advertising to you and others using the Service; information collected may also be used to send information to you that we think will be useful or relevant to you.

Disclosures. To comply with law enforcement requests and legal process, we may access retain, and/or disclose collected information, if we believe doing so is required. Examples of these include, but are not limited to, a court order, court subpoena, respond to your request, comply with law, or to protect your/our/others’ rights or property or safety.

Asset Transfers, Merger or Sale. We cannot control how other entities that we involve, under permission by law and/or contract, in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale of company assets, or transition of service to another provider, handle or disclose your information.

With Your Permission we may also disclose your information.

Information Security

We maintain the highest efforts to handle your information securely in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We however cannot guarantee 100% internet security and we cannot ensure or mandate the security of any information you provide to us.

Privacy for Children

Personal information from children under the age of 13 is not knowingly collected by this Service. If we learn that such information has been collected, we will take steps to delete it. If you would like to alert us of any such information, you may contact us at info@nurturetalk.com.

International Use

We are located in the United States and by using the Service you will transfer data to the United States. By using the Service, you consent and agree to the transfer of your information to the United States and to global processing, in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Offering a Question or Updating your Information

To request that we delete your account or update/correct any information that you have provided to us through the use of the Service please contact us a info@nurturetalk.com. You may also contact info@nurturetalk.com if you have suggestions on how to improve this Privacy Policy. In the instance that you choose to delete your account, we will remove your profile information and text messages from the Service. However we reserve the right to retain anonymized transcript information for business and research purposes and such information may remain in backup files. In addition, any comments, reviews or posts you have made on public areas, or social media, related to the Service may remain in a historical manner.

Privacy Policy and Practice Changes

This Privacy Policy may be revised so please review it periodically. If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, the revised version is effective when it is posted. If material changes are made, we will let you know through the Service, by email, or text-message. As long as you are using the Service, you are agreeing to this Privacy Policy and any updates that are made to it.
